ACE was founded by British entrepreneur Jeffrey House after the opulent apple orchards of western Sonoma County combined with his familiarity with the hard ciders of the UK inspired him to open the California Cider Company / ACE Cidery in 1993. As California's Original Cider Mill, ACE started small, servicing retailers and restaurants in Northern California before the popularity of their innovative tropical ciders paved the way for national distribution and eventual acquisition by VWE in 2021. Today, ACE Cider is still hand-crafted at the original cidery in Sebastopol, CA and is one of the top-selling hard cider brands in the country.
