This saves the user space by only needing one control console for several computers, and saves the time spent moving between the PC's. Ports are switched by calling up an On-Screen menu, pressing a button on the front of the unit, or by a simple keyboard hot-key sequence. PCs with either PS/2 or serial style mouse connections can be connected and used transparently. The StarView prevents bootup errors by providing keyboard and mouse emulation to the non-selected PC. Up to 8 Enterprise StarViews can be daisy chained to control a maximum of 64 PC's. The switch also has microphone and speaker connections, allowing it to be used in multimedia applications. It's low cost, rackmount capability, and high 1600 x 1280 resolution display capability make this switch perfect for professional test labs or server room environments.
