This allows for a much neater cabling environment and greater distances between the control console and each of the PCs connected. The Master Card acts as the control console for the entire KVM chain of computers. This console can take control of any of the other PCs by selecting from and OSD (on-screen display) menu. Each computer is connected using a Slave card (SVUTPS, sold separately) and becomes part of the KVM daisy-chain, up to a maximum of 32 PCs. A unique feature of the UTP StarView is the ability of each of the slave PCs in the KVM chain to also have their own local console for additional control points.
