Four Roses has been perfecting the art of quality and consistency for years and has used that guiding principle to develop our ten signature recipes. Each recipe brings something different to the batch – carefully blending them, allowing us to achieve an endless range of flavor profiles to please any bourbon lover. Four Roses uses two unique grain recipes that are then combined with limestone-rich water from the spring-fed Salt River in Lawrenceburg, KY and cooked to protect the delicate flavors of each grain. Four Roses is one of the only major distilleries using single-story rack warehouses to provide a gentle and consistent maturing environment during the aging process. Each barrel ages differently and is not pulled to be bottled and used until the desired taste profile is reached and deemed ready for its intended use. The Legend of Four Roses The Legend of Four Roses, It began when Paul Jones, Jr., the founder of Four Roses Bourbon, became smitten by the beauty of a Southern belle. It is said that he sent a proposal to her, and she replied that if her answer were “Yes,” she would wear a corsage of roses on her gown to the upcoming grand ball. Paul Jones waited for her answer excitedly on that night of the grand ball…when she arrived in her beautiful gown, she wore a corsage of four red roses. Master Distiller Brent Elliott, Four Roses Master Distiller Master Distiller Bio Brent Elliott became Master Distiller at Four Roses in September 2015 and has been involved in producing award-winning premium Bourbons since he began working with the company in 2005. As Master Distiller, Elliott ensures that each bottle of Four Roses is handcrafted with the same passion and quality that the brand has maintained since 1888. Elliott’s years of experience with Four Roses include everything from applying his Chemistry degree in production, to formulating Four Roses’ 10 distinct Bourbon recipes and hand-selecting barrels for award-winning bottlings that the brand has become known for around the world. Elliott also frequently travels on behalf of the brand, sharing his deep industry and brand knowledge through tastings, seminars, training sessions and events.
