RG89 680# PET Filament Tape

RG89 was developed to provide the strength and adhesive characteristics required for heavy-duty applications. RG89 is one of the highest tensile strength products in IPG’s filament tape portfolio. In addition to providing a solution for heavy-duty general manufacturing applications, RG89 was designed to help optimize operations and reduce risks in the Oil & Gas industry by helping to prevent the deformation known as “birdcaging” during manufacture and use of Subsea Umbilical cables, Risers and Flow lines (SURF). Similarly, in the Appliance industry, RG89 can be used for securing heavyweight baseloid lift-flap cartons during appliance manufacture and transport.

  • Used in applications where high tensile strength tape is required; specifically used for heavy duty strapping and bundling, tabbing and holding, and wrapping layers of flexible pipe.
