Long Description Use Scotch-Brite™ Hand Pad 7447 PRO for a wide variety of materials and tasks. It combines flexibility with effective cutting action and precise hand control, for consistent fine finishing results. Our pad features tightly graded aluminium oxide abrasives, designed to leave a smooth, finished surface on wood, metal, plastics, ceramics, porcelain, glass, rubber and composites. It’s comparable to steel wool grade 0, but unlike steel wool won’t rust after use, or create fine metal splinters. The non-woven, open-web material resists loading and can be used dry, with water or some solvents, and rinsed clean for reuse. Use our maroon hand pad in a variety of ways. It fits comfortably into the hand for precise control and can be used with a hand pad block for uniform finishing, or on an in-line sander to cover larger areas. The fast cutting fine grade aluminium oxide abrasives within our pad are what make it the choice of many industry professionals. The durable abrasive self-fractures during use to continually create fresh cutting edges, compared with traditional abrasives, such as garnet, which quickly wear down with use. Aluminium Oxide is widely used in grinding applications in addition to sanding and finishing, for its high cut-rate, hardness, strength, and low heat retention. Use it on a wide variety of substrates in both woodworking and metalworking, including ferrous alloys. This pad is a unique surface conditioning product, featuring abrasives blended into non-woven nylon fibres – a breakthrough fibre coating technology that gives Scotch-Brite PRO abrasive products a faster cut rate and more consistent scratch than its competitor non-woven abrasive products. Using it reduces time and effort in finishing parts. Combining abrasives with fibres in this way create a system that delivers consistent results for the life of the product. The open-web material is load resistant and keeps the abrasive minerals cutting at high performance by limiting clogging of the nylon fibres.
