Her family credits her with the fire that has led to the continued success of Riboli Family Wine Estates through the generations. The Maddalena wine portfolio is made up of seven varietals whose bold, yet humble flavors reflect the fiery passion and personality of their namesake. Shaped by the values of Maddalena Riboli, the matriarch and girl boss who built a wine empire out of one small LA winery, this modernized “young Maddalena” is a strong female who has a love for life and is on a mission to turn her dreams and business goals into a tangible reality. She is fresh and approachable, but is filled with fierce determination and is uncompromising about the quality of things. This is reflected in the artisan wines in this collection. Short Product Description Our Maddalena Pinot Grigio is 100% Pinot Grigio and was farmed from our Rancho Soledad Vineyard in Monterey, so named for the nearby Soledad Mission founded in 1791. With its close proximity to the Pacific Ocean, the Monterey appellation has a classic cool climate with morning fog and afternoon breezes; here, grapes develop flavor slowly and fully while preserving precious natural acidity. Rancho Soledad’s sandy loam soils are derived from decomposed granite, imparting a slight minerality to its wines. This is a dry, light bodied wine that reveals notes of baking spice and honeysuckle on a persistent finish. We are proud that our Paso Robles and Monterey vineyards are certified sustainable by CSWA. Long Product Description Our Maddalena Pinot Grigio is 100% Pinot Grigio and was farmed from our Rancho Soledad Vineyard in Monterey, so named for the nearby Soledad Mission founded in 1791. The 2021 growing season was long and cool, even for Monterey, yielding fruit that showed refined phenolic development. We harvested the fruit for this Pinot Grigio in one pass on September 23rd. This is a dry, light-bodied wine that reveals notes of baking spice and honeysuckle on a persistent finish. We are proud that our Paso Robles and Monterey vineyards are certified sustainable by CSWA. At our certified sustainable Paso Robles winery, solar panels provide 100% of the needed electricity, and wastewater is effectively reclaimed and recycled for additional uses. Tasting Notes With a bright hue - typical of Pinot Grigio - this well-balanced wine has an intense nose with aromatics of bright fruit, citrus and wildflowers. A crisp acidity leads to flavors of ripe melon and green apple. This is a dry, light bodied wine that reveals notes of baking spice and honeysuckle on a persistent finish.
