During the turmoil of wars and invasions, the monks safeguarded and advanced viticulture in France by quietly continuing their work to protect the vines and experiment with different grape varieties, ensuring the survival of French viticulture. Since the 1920s, Les Glories has honored the winemaking traditions upheld by these monks. Through collaboration with multi-generational families across prime wine regions in France, we meticulously select leading varietals from the best appellations that showcase the unique soils found throughout its diverse terroir. Les Glories intertwines the past and present by creating wines that are timeless yet contemporary, paying homage to the famed monks for their stewardship and commitment. Short Product Description Les Glories Vouvray comes from the prestigious Loire appellation and boasts the best of Chenin Blanc. An incredibly versatile grape, our Vouvray is a pale gold hue with soft highlights. The nose opens with aromas of ripe pear and quince layered with delicate white florals and a touch of flinty minerality. Long Product Description Les Glories Vouvray comes from the prestigious Loire appellation and boasts the best of Chenin Blanc. An incredibly versatile grape, our Vouvray is a pale gold hue with soft highlights. The nose opens with aromas of ripe pear and quince layered with delicate white florals and a touch of flinty minerality. Located in the Loire Valley, the Vouvray appellation spans eight communes along the right bank of the Loire and the Brenne. Sourced from the Les Sablons parcel in Chancay, a six-hectare west-facing hillside, the vines are rooted in sandy and gravel soils over flint clay. Combined with a temperate, ocean-influenced climate, these conditions promote optimal ripening and contribute to the wine’s balance, texture, and mineral character. Hand-harvested and carefully sorted, the grapes are destemmed and gently pressed to preserve purity. Fermentation occurs in temperature-controlled stainless steel over six to seven weeks, followed by aging on fine lees until spring bottling, building texture while maintaining freshness and precision.
