As a tribute to this emblematic location, Royal Salute’s Master Blender, Sandy Hyslop, has created a bespoke 21-year-old blended malt whisky with a rich, fruity flavour that echoes Rio’s famously vibrant culture. A portion of this complex blend was aged in first-fill casks from Braeval and Glen Keith Distilleries, which bring a fragrant and floral nuance to the whisky reminiscent of Rio’s lush green landscape. These flavours work harmoniously with the inclusion of American Oak matured whiskies, which carry creamy vanilla and coconut notes as a nod to the smooth sounds of Bossa Nova floating through the city’s streets.
