Short DescriptionAbsinthe is famous for being banned in the United States for nearly a hundred years (from 1912 to 2007). This spirit is still made with the same ingredients as it was in the early 1800s.
Long DescriptionThis award-winning Pernod Absinthe is made in France's original absinthe distillery, and it contains no artificial dyes or sugars. It can be enjoyed on its own, with a sugar cube, or in a cocktail. The traditional method for preparing Pernod Absinthe is named "the French Method." You can recreate this classic drink by combining one part absinthe and three to five parts water. First, fill a cup with absinthe, then place a sugar cube on top of a slotted spoon. Next, place the spoon on the glass, and then pour iced water over the sugar cube. Then, enjoy your Pernod Absinthe in its purest form. This spirit is a French classic, being enjoyed across the world in famous places such as the French Quarter in New Orleans.

Product HistoryIn 1805, Henri Louis Pernod founded the first French Absinthe Distillery in Pontarlier. From the first Maison Pernod-Fils distillery to the infamous absinthe ban, La Belle Epoque to the re-discovery of the original recipe, the rich history of the Maison Pernod spans more than two centuries. Almost one century after being prohibited, and after two years of research, Pernod recreates its distillery in Thuir and relaunches the original recipe “Recette Traditionnelle” inspired by a 19th century manuscript.
