Product Title - Base Tobala Mezcal Single Village Short Description Our limited Tobalá is a cult favorite produced by Rogelio Martinez Cruz, and was the first wild varietal mezcal available in the US. This beautiful Mezcal starts out floral with notes of mango, cinnamon, and parmesan rind, with a signature creaminess and long minerality to finish. Long Description The Tobala maguey is found growing naturally only in the highest altitude canyons in the shade of oak trees, like truffles, and it's so small it takes about eight pinas (agave hearts) to equal one pina from either of the more commonly propagated and cultivated Magueys. Our Tobala is produced by Rogelio Martinez Cruz and was the first wild varietal mezcal available in the US when Ron Cooper introduced it in 1997. Rogelio's high-elevation pueblo of Santa Maria Albarradas is surrounded by a mountainous, tropical microclimate, on the way to the cloud forests up above. Rogelio's exceptional distillation of Tobala includes a rare 30-day long roast, and makes for a mezcal with a sweet, fruity nose, palate of mango, cinnamon, and delicate florals, with a signature creaminess finishing long with minerality.
