Avión traces its roots to the town of Jesus Maria in the Jalisco region of Mexico. It is here that the Lopez family first created this tequila, and it is also where the Avión agave is still harvested to this day. Manufacturer Pernod Ricard Product History Tequila Avión is made using the finest Blue Weber Agave in the highest regions of Jalisco, Mexico (7,000 feet above sea level). This elevation creates more depth and character in the agave. The Agave is low roasted in brick ovens under low temperatures. Afterwards, Ultra Slow Filtration occurs removing all particles to create the smoothest tequila possible.
