| Vintage | 2021 |
| Wine Description | The “Sotto Casa” Riserva has been produced since 2011 and is a natural evolution of the Boscarelli Vino Nobile Riserva "black label.” The wine harmonizes the elegance, character and freshness of Sangiovese, with the tannic texture, structure and fullness of two international varieties : Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot. The grapes come only from the historical vineyard “Sotto Casa.” |
| Appellation | Tuscany |
| Varietal Composition | Sangiovese, Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot |
| Tasting notes | Deep cherry, plum, mussel and oyster shell characters on the nose follow through to a full-bodied palate drenched with firm, chalky tannins. The impressive structure ends in a neat, mineral finish. |
| Pairing notes | Structured dishes, grilled, roasted or braised red meat, game and aged cheeses. |
| Alcohol % | 14 |
| Aging | Each cuvée ages separately in Slavonian or French oak casks, including malolactic fermentation, ranging from 2.25 to 25 hl. The ageing lasts between 28 and 32 months. The final blend is done at the end of the ageing process, and is then aged in the bottle for at least 6 months. |

| Highest Score Review Copy | A layered, profound nose rolls from just poured tar, crushed rocks and wild herbs, to old leather, book bindings, rose water and citrus peel. The dark palate broods with macerated berries and earth, but glimmers of light and warmth come from flaky Maldon salt and more citrus peels. Tannins form an ultra-refined mosaic. |
