Vintage Wine Name Barbera d'Alba La Gamberaja DOC 2022 Vintage 2022 Wine Description The estate vineyard in La Gamberaja DOC is planted with 45-year-old vines at a density of 5,500 vines per hectare, and a very low crop yield of 1.5 kg per vine. The 2022 vintage is crimson with dark ruby highlights and a complex, ample nose with ripe dark berries and spices and a full, well-balanced on the palate. Tasting notes Violet red with dark ruby reflections. Ample nose with ripe dark berries and spices. Full and well-balanced on the palate. Pairing notes Pairs well with roasted meats, game and aged cheese. Alcohol % 15 Aging Macerated for about 15 days at a maximum temperature of 30 °C (86 °F). Aged 12 months partially in 25-hl Slavonian oak barrels and partially in barriques, followed by 8 months in bottle. The Cà Romé philosophy is reflected in the name: Cà is short for casa, which means “home” and refers to Romano’s home and a winery that is run by a family, not a corporation.
