| Highest Score Review Copy | The 2019 Reserve Cabernet Sauvignon is 95% Cabernet Sauvignon, 3% Merlot, 2% Petit Verdot. Deeper, darker and richer smelling than the Cooper's Reed, it's marked by notes of black cherries and licorice on the nose, while the full-bodied palate is rich and velvety without being heavy or overdone, leading into a long, soft, plush finish. |

| Winery Description | "At a time when the wine industry is grappling with attracting younger consumers — mainly Millennials — Brendel is leading the way." - Jess Lander, the San Francisco Chronicle Brendel likes to say that they have a secret ingredient: dirt. Their range of wines are made from some of the best sites in California’s most renowned regions, including the eastern side of Rutherford, the highest elevations of Howell Mountain, two diverse sites in St. Helena, a steep plot in Oak Knoll, and select sites in the Sonoma Coast. Each vineyard is chosen for its quality and unique aptitude, with soil types ranging from volcanic to clay to bring out the best in each grape in their array of wines. It’s, as they put it, good dirt. All Brendel wines are made by Heitz Cellar Director of Winemaking, Brittany Sherwood, guaranteeing high-quality wines that are made with a unique philosophy but the same Heitz integrity. Handcrafted for daily consumption and enjoyment, the wines never touch a new oak barrel, and are intended to be vibrant, fresh and pure. |
