Vintage Wine Name Chablis 1er Cru Vaulorent 2021 Vintage 2021 Wine Description Vaulorent is the only Premier Cru located on the Colline des Grand Crus (hill of the Grand Crus) with Grand Cru Les Preuses as its immediate neighbor. Ideal sun and the Grand Cru Kimmeridgian soil deliver a powerful, complex and elegant wine with classic minerality and a silky structure. Region Bourgogne Appellation Chablis 1er Cru AOC Varietal Composition 100% Chardonnay Vineyard Details Right bank of Serein next to Grand Cru Les Preuses; SW exposure; 159-216 meters. Soil is Kimmeridgian, with deposits of fossilized oyster shells. Average vine age is 30 years. Tasting notes Initially light and elegant with lily and herbs, which lead to an opulent and sapid palate brimming with juicy, exotic fruit and minerality that lingers. Pairing notes Enjoy as an apéritif, with seared prawns, scallops, sushi, terrines, roast poultry or mushroom dishes. La Chablisienne farms a diverse array of vineyards across the four appellations – Grand Cru, 1er Cru, Chablis and Petit Chablis – so the wines truly represent the essence of each unique location. These elegant cuvées are known for their purity, energy and minerality. Winemaker Estelle Roy Winemaker Bio Estelle has been immersed in the gastronomic world with her family since her early childhood. The pleasure of eating and pairing food and wine from an early age has been a source of motivation for her professional pursuits. She obtained her national oenologist diploma (DNO) in Dijon and decided to specialize and refine her knowledge and expertise in the regions of Alsace, Beaujolais and Burgundy. Today her passion for winemaking starts in the vineyard, a bond strengthened by marriage as her husband is a winegrower. In May 2023, Estelle stepped in to the head winemaking role at La Chablisienne. Estelle strives to represent the best from each of the terroirs and to give a soul to each vintage.
